inner bearing cover for A front spindle

Sunny the Model A

I've been working on a trailer for my A, now before you say anything, it's a 4x6 flatbed trailer from the 70's, you can pick the frame of it up and walk around with it. I've been working on fitting A wheels and taillights to it. one thing i came up with is to use a couple of A front drums i have lying around to bolt the wheels to, i contacted a bearing company to see if they will make me a set of bearings to adapt the hub to the trailer axle, so far so good. i need to have a cover over the inner bearing to keep trash and grit out. i thought about the covers that the A spindle has that shields the bearing. do they make reproductions of these? i thought of making a bracket on the trailer axle that I could attach the cover to. if y'all got a better idea of how to cover the inner bearings i'm all ears.

The usual way of dealing with a seal in this area is to use a "knife edge seal" which amounts to a metal ring with a rubber knife edge liner.

These seals are available in most ID and OD diameters of your choice. Usually from the same source as the bearing.

Part A-1190 is the model A version of this - minus the rubber edge.

a tin can might work, or something similar that i can shape to fit the trailer axle. once i get the hubs and drums on the next job is to get the hitch sorted out, my idea is to use a rear bumper bracket as the main assembly for the hitch and fabricate the center piece for a ball hitch. now as far as the bumper brackets go, which style would let me fit it on without modifying the bed rails on my wide bed? i'll buy new wood rails to modify if i need to but i'd rather get a bolt in option if available

I'd be more inclined to find an off the shelf bearing and make a shim or turn down the axle to fit. I'd also trim the brake drums - just so they look like trailer specific parts. I'd leave about 1/4-1/2" of the braking surface to stiffen where the wheel is supported
I'm working on replicating a 1929 Auto Kamp trailer. I've got the axle and a lot of pictures. It used Model T wheels so owners could get replacement parts easily.
