I keep getting logged out involuntarily. Why?

I log in, go to a forum, read posts, then if I do something like click on a thumb or want to view someones album, I get a window asking me to log in again! If I go back and forth between threads, some pictures act like I'm logged out and don't show even though the page shows me as logged in. It aldo happens when I want to post something. The only fix is for me to click "Log Out" and then log back in again.

My OS is Vista (yuk, but stuck) and I'm using CHROME, a browser from Google that is fast and doesn't load up my RAM. I don't use Explorer because my 4 mb RAM (system max) loads up and I crash often. I do not have the logout problem with other sites I use and need to log into, like my emails, photobucket, CAD forum, etc.

I'd rather spend money on PARTS than a new OS or computer. Any ideas?

the remeber me box hasn't been working for me. Not a big deal. Just letting you know there may be a glitch.

You probably have either old/stale cookies, cookies disabled, cookie expiration overrides set, ..... something having to do with cookies is wrong.

If you're using FireFox, cookies are easily managed in the preferences and I suggest you delete all cookies related to the FordBarn and then start over. You may also have to set the preferences for handling cookies as they arrive. (Default is to just let them happen, but I have my preferences set so that I see every cookie that comes in and approve its acceptance and expiration period.)

If you're on some other browser, you're on your own, but the overall advice is still appropriate.

clark, did you frequent the old ford barn? the reason I ask is that the old ford barn featured a lot of spam that dropped cookies on your machine. It could be that you need to clear your cookies and cache... I bet that would fix it.
