How do you remove stains from seats.

My deluxe 35 car has the original seat upholstery, which is in very good condition except for a few stains about the size of a quarter. They look like rust stains but not sure. I’ve tried everything I can think of to remove stains but no luck. Does anybody have any recommendations on what I could use.

I use that Oxyclean stuff, or the Clorox brand equivalent. Diluted with water in a spray bottle and scrub brush.

We found some stuff at Northern Tool, called "Tech" stain remover. www.techstainremover.com My wife makes most of our interior stuff, and I seem to always get grease, dirt, etc. on it. She uses this spray, and a damp rag. It is really good cleaner.

I've used a product called TUFF STUFF on a number of my cars. It is made by STP Products. First use in a test area ,as with all cleaners. Good luck.

If it is rust, that can be very difficult to get out. The stuff is dense and the stuff normally used for desolving it will hurt the fabric. As mentioned earlier, dry cleaning may work but you will have to remove the cover from the base & springs. Dry cleaning folks always know the best ways to remove stains. You might consult someone in that business to help you.

If I were you I'd leave it alone. I have staining on my original 1937 Ford seats and I bought myself a Ford logo throw to cover it with. It's not a show car so I don't mind.

Take to a carpet cleaner they have all sorts of stuff for cleaning,i took one to "stanley steamer carper cleaners" and they did the job in there shop charged almost nothing just because they wanted to prove they could do it.

I like foaming Windex. Make SURE it's the foaming kind. I spray it on, let it set for about a minute then dab it up with a paper towel. A cheap alternative to the snake oils out there...just remember every stain is different.
