How do you post a picture

Click on the "GO Advanced"button under the text box. Then scroll down to the "Additional Options".Then go to "manage attachments".There you can upload photos from your computer.

An alternative method is to put your pics in Photobucket. Then all you do is copy and paste the link from each pic. They will automatically open when the thread is clicked on.

Click on the "GO Advanced"button under the text box. Then scroll down to the "Additional Options".Then go to "manage attachments".There you can upload photos from your computer.

There are a couple of ways to post pictures on the Ford Barn forum, both here and the Swap Meet area:

The first way you have to have an image posted somewhere on the internet, in a place like Photobucket or another image hosting site.

A widow will pop up, insert the web address of the image you want to post. Make sure you enter the address in exactly, no extra characters or letters. Then click OK:

If you entered the address correctly your image will show up in your post. If the address is not correct the dreaded red X will be seen. Click on the X and hit to the "Delete" button on your key board and retry entering the address again, make sure you entered the address exactly.

=============================================================

The second way is the use the attachment feature. This feature will allow you to upload a picture from the hard drive on your computer.

Below the message window there is a "Manage Attachment" button.

fb004.jpg

Click on this button and a window with pop up asking you to browse your hard drive for the image you want to post. You may have to go up a few files on your hard drive to find the picture you are looking for.

fb005.jpg

Once you find the picture on your hard drive click on it.

fb007.jpg

Once you click on the file you want the previous window will come back with your file listed in the window. You can either click the next "Browse" button to add another image or click "Upload" button.

The next window will note the files you have uploaded, click "Close Window" button:

Do it my way, Photobucket is free and easy to use.

No matter where he gets his images, either from a on line storage place like Photobucket or uploading from his hard drive, he still has to follow one of the procedures I've outlined above.

I figure a picture is worth a thousand words and I didn't want to type that much.

Hello all,
This is my first post on this forum. I thought this would be a good 1st attempt , so I tried to post some photos using the above detailed info.
I tried the preview and I think it might work, so here goes. Great site by the way.

Look under the box that you are typing your message into as I am doing here. There is the red highlighted line "ADDITIONAL OPTIONS"Keep looking under that and you will see the 'MANAGE ATTACHMENTS' button. Then follow bob's instructions for the second way he posted.Once you find the right buttons you will be surprised how easy it is to post photos on this new website.I never could figure out the way to do it on the old fordbarn.

He does'nt have to use any of the procedures that you've outlined.
Just paste the IMG code from Photobucket directly into message box before or after message, And you can post multiple pictures this way.:)

Assuming you have got your photos of your cammera and into your Documents storage .Next to POST QUiCK REPLY .You press GO Advanced .Then

Old Bill ...................
I have found it really easy to post photos on FORDBARN.
I'll spell out how I do it.
1...Hit "Post Reply".
2...Write your message.
3...Scroll down.
4...Hit "Manage Attachments".
5...Hit "Brouse".
6...Find your photo.
7...Click on your photo.
8...Hit "Upload".
9...Hit "Close This Window".
YOU ARE DONE ! Now, hit "Preview Post", to see if you did it correctly. If not, try again. If it worked, hit "Submit Reply".
If it did not work, your image might be too wide. It can only be 800 pixals wide. You might have to resize them. I just load mine at 800 pixals, which is also a good size for e-mailing.
If you want to post more than one photo, repeat steps 5,6,7 & 8, before step 9.
Hope this works !
Mike :)
