i am in the process of reinstalling my windows in a 32 fordor. bought all new window channels. it seems as though if i install the window channels first then I can't get the window in. if i install the window first then I can't put in the window channels. what is the correct order. someone please help! thanks.

Although it does seem impossible, it can be done. I posted the same question several years ago and received no responses... I finally figured it out on my own, but now am trying to remember how I did it.

Seems like I had to put the channels sort-of in place, but not connected, then tilt the channels inward at the top and slide the glass (with lower channel in place) down into the channels, then tilt it all back into the door and then install/connect the regulator, and finally pull the channel downward while connecting the tang at the top, then securing the bottom. If not exactly right, this will at least give you a clue as to the approach required??? It is kinda like
a Chinese puzzle...

I had done pickups before, but they are easy because the tops of the doors come off and the glass can be dropped directly in. Those being easy caused me to have
unrealistic expectations on the 5WC...

thanks richard,
i assume then there is no way to apply any adhesive to the side channels. you are right, is sounds like a chinese puzzle

Had the same problem with my 3W. The regulators were bad, but the channels were in excellent shape. One glass was already laying in the bottom of the door & the other seemed to come out easy, but neither would go back in. I too thought I would have to remove the channels, but I finally drilled out the factory rivets for one of the stops. This gave me enough room to rotate the glass into place. Bolted the stop back in place. Works great.
