Heater Shut-Off Valve

I want to install a heater shut-off valve on my 223 in-line 6 to stop the hot water from flowing to my heater in my 55 F100. Since the 2 hoses come from the thermostat housing, I am not sure which hose needs to have this valve. I think it would be the bottom hose but would like to be sure. Hopefully this will cut down the heat in my cab. It's hot enough driving around in Florida!

I would think that you could put it on eitherone, as it stops the water from passing through the heater core.

I agree, put the cut -off on either hose. The water can't flow when it is off, and water will back up through the other hose irregardless of which one the cut-off is on.

Thanks all. Yes Joe, I found an NOS switch on e-pay; should be waiting for me when I return from my business trip. Steve
