where is there a supplier for the wire that comes off of the brushes?this is a multie wire brided like a rope for flexibility.standard wire will not work because it will not let the brush float on the comentator.
I'm guessing your generator has been altered as generator brushes do not have wires attached. The type brushes you describe are used in the Model A starter however.
The powerhouse uses these type of brushes, so I am guessing he is working on one of them. Brushes for these can be hard to find and likely expensive when you do. Soldering the lead is his best option. Rod
I rebuilt a powerhouse a few years ago that had the braided wires secured to the brushes by some very tiny brass wood screws. It worked fine and looked so professional that I just assumed it was factory made that way.
