Gen. part

Dad and I were working on our spare gen. the other night and he said that there is a part that goes on the end plate for the spring and wick. I looked in Bratton's catalogue and found the diagram and the index number (#38-end plate oiler 30-31). But there is no Bratton's number. Are they being made anymore or is it time for a shade tree fix?

It looks like that part isn't made. It shouldn't be too hard to find a scrappy generator core at a local swap meet (or friend's house) where you can obtain a replacement oiler. It's just a little threaded canister that holds the wick and spring.

Bert's helped me with a rear plate for my generator - and for a very reasonable price (including the oiler cap.)

Might want to give then a try...
