Gas gauge stop working????

It did work but was sluggish and took it time going where it was suppost to go. Then one day I filled up the gas tank and it stayed on empty. Been there every since. I grounded the wire that goes to the tank unit and nothing. Don't sound good does it.

Sounds like the float may have sprung a leak and is sitting on the bottom of the tank. Pull it out and check it out.

Sounds more like a Bad gauge or wire to me

if you grounded the wire to the sending unit and nothing happened then its the fuel gauge
