I just returned from the MAFCA national in Vancouver and the Alaska cruise. We took two Model As in my 30 ft. enclosed trailer.

Car #1, a 1928 tudor that I finished restoring in 1971 and have been driving, (29000 miles), maintaining and updating ever since got a first place, Mark of Excellence, 430 points in the touring class.

Car # 2, a 1929 coupe that I finished restoring in 1978 and haven't driven very much, (1500 miles), got a first place, Mark of Excellence, 450 points in the blue ribbon class.

I also took my Hubley car and got a best of show in the peoples choice judging before the race. The custom A400 is pretty but not very fast.

We had a really great time but are glad to be home in Camino Ca. again.

Sorry to brag but I just had to tell my friends on the Barn.

Thats not bragging, you can see the smile on your face from here; you efforts and improvements to your A's is what got you the scores. Be proud !!!!

I gained 10 pounds on the boat going to Alaska in 2007...It was all you could eat so what the heck!

Did our Model A friends from Juneau meet everyone when you docked there?

Nice to hear you had great time and a safe trip back to CA!

Glenn--Congrats on the awards.......but I am not surprised as you really know how to turn out a very nice A. Did you even consider taking up that wonderful Woodie to show, and if not, will you any time soon?

Congratulations Glenn. That is impressive, particularly since those restorations were done so many years ago.

As for "bragging", I don't think that it is. So why not share good news. A hobby should be an area of enjoyment in our lives. Good for you Glenn.

Re: forgive me for bragging but....

Glenn, like the good looking girls used to say in the old days "If you've got it, flaunt it!" Congratulations.

Glenn, nice job and there is nothing wrong when a person toots their own Ahooga horn every now an then, glad you had a chance to explore the northwest.

Good job, and Congrats... nice to see restored A's stay in a state of preservation. As others would love to see pictures. Super nice woody....

ts great Glenn is this your tudor.

I think it was Dizzy Dean, when bragging about his fastball, stated "It ain't bragging if you can back it up". I had the privilege of judging Glen's two cars and they are both very nice and a credit to our hobby. There is no doubt in my mind that Glen can back it up so it ain't bragging, just stating facts!! Good job Glen!!!!

Glenn,
I agree with all the others. You're not bragging, just sharing your pride, as you should. Please post some photos of your cars, especially the Coupe. Weren't you awarded "Best Paint" when you first showed in '78 or so? I should tell everyone that your '29 Coupe was my inspiration for my first show-car restoration in the 80's. Still a wonderful car as evidenced by your showing in Vancouver.
