Fender brace contour

Fairly close however the fender really needs to "rest" on the brace where the headlight bar bolts are located. Also, the headlight bar should match this area too.

Here's the problem. Yesterday I took my light bar loose to replace the old cracked/weathered pads. When I tried to bolt it back together I noticed that I was deforming the fender where the bar attached. It wasn't deformed before, but would have probably ruined the fender if I'd left it that way. I crawled underneath and found that the fender brace on the PS seemed to fit very well, but there was 1/8" to 1/4" gap between the brace and the fender on the driver side. I don 't know how it got that way since apparently all was well before I took the light bar loose.

I made up some shims out of 1/8" aluminum and slid them between the fender and the brace where the light bar attaches in order to tighten the bolts without the distortion, but I sure would like to figure out what went wrong and fix it right.

Yes. But the whole car seems to lean towards the driver's side. Floor to edge of rear fender is 1" low on the DS as well as what I see up front. (Maybe that's a reflection on the size of the driver! :D) But a definite droop towards that side.

I measured a few places.

Ok, starting over, can you level the car to the pavement? Using a digital level, make sure the frame is parallel to the pavement so you are getting true numbers and not something skewed by it leaning t one side. Then take your readings again.

Brent, since I don 't have access to a digital level, would jacking/blocking the frame until measurements to the floor at corresponding points are equal suffice?
