FE Ford oil filter question

Was there ever an FE oil filter mount that positioned the filter forward, instead of down, or straight out?

Ford did have an angle "adapter" but I don't know what the application originally was. I know it fits small blocks and since the FE's and 302's used the same filter, I assume it fits the FE's

Paul,
The angle adaptor Ford offers is for engines that have the filter mount cast in the block, whereas the FE uses a separate mount that accepts the filter. I learned it's possible to use the angle adaptor with the FE mount, but would rather use just one mount.

Bob 37,
I will remote the filter if I have to, but would rather use an existing factory piece if available

Thanks for you comments.

The pickups using the the FE starting in 65 had an adapter that went straight out,and the filter screwed on perpendicular to the block not parallel.

Milt,
Thanks for the info. I've learned there was a mount that angled to the front on some F-100 4X4s and will try and find one.
