I just aquired 1930 ccpu and wondered about a seatback I read about, it was parts number #84330 I believe.It was suppose to give us manly men err ,ok, fat men a bit more belly room. I believe it was for the closed cab models and must have had a thinner profile [ woood back -springs etc]. The three wood slats for the seatback start at the cab rear and come foward a few inches to the back of the seat riser, I was complatating moving that bottom at the seat riser back a few inches, all the space that is there and have a more upright seat back but a precious few inches for the gut..... any ideas or experience about improving interior space in th cc pickup...? thanks bobbycoke
 
I have the tall guy seat bottom in an Open Pickup. It is available from LeBaron Bonney. I also replaced the 3/4" wood bottom with 5/8" plywood to get an eyelash more squint under the wiper motor.
Gravity and age are curing the problem for me. I've made an manly impression in the 80-year-old springs ... and my neck is getting a permanent forward tilt ...
Your queston had to do with the seat back. I met a big guy in a pickup who had just thrown the seat back out. He used a couple Chinese Mexican blankets he'd bought in Reynosa!
 
You could remove the backrest and install 2" of foam on a piece of plywood, then have it covered with suitable material. I did move the seat riser back about 3" to shorten up the seat. Worked for me.......
 
Thanks jim this is what I am thinking of doing, I just needed some reinforcement of my idea to get me going...bob
