Edlebrock Supper (twin)

I recently picked up a Edlsbrock Super dual intake for 32-48 and after close examination have found some unusual things about it. Of course there is not room for a generator but the gen. mount stud is a tapped hole for a smaller stud than standard and the inside measurement from edge to edge on the manifold where the gen mount goes are more narrow than a standard intake. In other words instead of fitting into the "shoe" a gen mt would stand off. Manifold appears to have been used and other than that is a really nice rig. Are there some counterfits out there............?

Do you think it is set up for some sort of idler assembly? And, by the way, I have an Offy super dual where I can run an alternator in the stock position with 3" risers on the carbs. It is tight, but you can nestle the alternator under the forward bowl. You might have to modify an alternator bracket to make it fit your manifold.

Edelbrock manifolds (at least the old ones, have never owned a recent one) came with modified generator brackets that accepted a special Edelbrock casting made to directly mount the shaft, hub, and pulley from a 21A fan.
It replaces the Ford iron part that bolts this '42-8 fan to the front of the generator, and is thick enough to space correctly without the need for the generator flange.
There was no need to make it fit the normal generator bracket, since a generator could not be used at front of a dual or triple, and the special fan bracket is neater than a cut-off generator flange and 21A iron fan bracket.
Generator lived out on the head on a bracket that bolted to the head studs, right or left.
These brackets were different in angular conformation, one mounting the gen in tight for better pulley wrap at pumps, the other moving it outward to clear the very low radiator hoses found on '39-41 Fords.
The difference between Edelbrock and Ford slots at bracket is fairly small...pretty sure it could be opened up enough to take Ford gen flange if needed for some reason.

If i modify a Speedway slingshot Alt bracket for reel low mounting i can get an alternator right in front of 3 94's on a Edelbrock tripple either 39-48 or 49-53. Order the special pulley also for Ford fan mounting.

I have the same intake on my coupe. I am currently trying to get stuff lined up also. On the first idler pulley i made I just ground down the "fingers" that stick into the mount so they fit.

A good friend sent me a different offset generator bracket that I think will work better than the one shown in the pic.

Thanks to all, looks like I need to find a offset head bracket. Have a offset bracket that goes on a manifold that would work on a later model but I am working with fan on gen era installations.
