Early 28 radiator shell with "lace-on" lacing

Does any one know the month in 28 Ford changed the radiator shell from the "lace on" lacing to the rivet on lacing? They don't show up often and there is one on the ever so controversial auction site, I can't seem to find info of the change. Nothing in the standards address this yet. Thanks

Steve,

Refer to page 1-1, Revised 1994, Area 1, Engine Compartment, MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards (Start of production through February 1928).

As noted, February is our "best estimate". The funny thing is the Ford engineering releases indicate early November 1927 which obviously is not correct.

tried to post a link, but i am currently downloading new maps to my gps, a long slow process and it is making my computer work funny

Seems bidding has ended, maybe being relisted?

Just how does this "lace-on" work? I can find no information on this type lacing kit or any pictures or instructions on how it is installed.
Thanks Tom
