Door latch springs

My 1936 driver door latch spring broke. I purchased a new spring, but can't figure out how to get it back in place. Once in position it looks like I need to force hooked end down and against latch. The small spring at interior door handle fell out and having same issue getting it placed in correctly.

Thanks!

Place the new spring in between the tabs where the old one came out .The dogleg must point down on the left side for the drivers side.Pinch those tabs together. Then with a pair of small vise grips grab the dogleg and pull it up until you can slip it behind the striker. The remote spring is another thing, difficult to replace without taking it apart(heating and bending carefully the tabs that hold it together). The reverse to put it back together. If you don't heat the tabs red hot they will break. They did on me.
