Don't everyone rush to buy this....

Pete,I have that EXACT catalog.I also have their first one.I think that one has a picture of Rick and Jean?? Seavey on the inside.I also STILL have bags of their stuff hanging around.A set of lug nuts that bottom out before they contact the wheel,a timing gear with about the same offset as the cam lobes, some cowl patch panels that consist of a piece of metal with instructions on how to hammer the bead into the bottoms,a dist.body that conducts nothing, probably a dozen other things. To me,back then, other than JC Whitney they were the only game in town.

Keith . what you have left i'll light a candle for ya at Church..... I kinda like his restoration guide that i have somewhere in the attic ..l.o.l.

I have that book too.Is that the one that is still being printed?I still see Ricks shop manuals, with a different cover than the one I have.Back then that was quite a book to me.When I first got my A,I was 12 and I wore out the Model A section of the JC Whitney catalog.(1968) In 1972 when in high school I bought a 61 Volkswagen to have something to drive with heat. Then for a couple of years I wore out the VW section of the Whitney catalog. I bought some glass A fenders back then, they had to come from either Ricks or Whitneys, they were the only places I knew of,and they were so thin they only had one side.I clamped them on,they actually almost fit,but they waved in and out 3 inches.A bodyman looked at them and fixed them in 1/2 hour with a hair dryer.I also have an update to the Ricks catalog that was just new prices and products, and you added it to the previous years catalog.

Geeze Louise, I have a stack of Rick's Catalogs out by the Shop Wood Stove, used for Fire Starters, hold on I have to go get them and List them on the Bay.

Want to have another Laugh, check out this one. A Vendor, and other Parts Dealers sell this Item @ about $36 The Bid is up to $140 an a day to go yet. 1 guy who hit $140 wants it so bad, he logged in 2 more bids. I'd like to see the look on his face, when he finds out they can be bought new for $36.

Emit Kelly was right when he said a "Sucker is Born every Day" or was It every Minute ??

It was rumored back in the early 80's that he had IRS problems. That was a rumor, told to me by an A vendor, who pointed out to me that it was just a rumor. There was also a rumor of a divorce setting the whole thing off.I had not bought anything from him for years at the time,so it just wasn't of much interest to me.Now I am a little curious as to what he is doing now. Some people stay in the same line of work when they go belly up,because they feel they know a little more about their line of work after. Some do a 180 and stay away from the type of work that did them in.

Final price $155.50, not bad for a $36 part. I wonder if the seller
will send a second chance offer to the first place loser?

Sprite and Cloud love Ricks catalogs. Open, they fit the bottom of their bird cage perfectly. Cloud even learned how to turn pages. It was nice to finally see some real crap in that catalog, not just repop. My cat prefers J.C. Whitney under the litter.

I think he had a good idea he sold stuff in rick packs, everything to do with the water pump or the headlights, he sold it in one kit just had to order one part number instead on item by item

I think the idea was great. The problem was the stuff that went into the junk packs.I bet I have a dozen or more Rick Packs around.I have one of the water pump kits. The fan slides so far over the taper the shoulder sticks out of the fan hub more than 1/8 inch.I figured I could at least use the impeller.Well, the hole ain't in the middle. It ain't in the middle of one of the timing gears I got from him either.I have two sets of 23 lug nuts, they are threaded to the end with no relief.Actually the quality of the chrome on those looks good,so I am going to just bore out a little on each and use them. Most of the stuff I bought though I used and is still doing fine.Brake parts, valves and guides, pistons,I have a spare tire cover that is over 35 years old that is still pliable and looks good.I still have a hat with his name on it too.If I went to Model A shows I would wear it.

at leas the Rick's catalog is out of print.

a few years back I saw a Bratton's catalog sell on eBay to some poor schlub who did not know that he could get one free at the 1-800 number.......
