I am new to model a's so be paitent. I have 2 rumble seat lids. What is the difference between these and a regular bottom opening lid? :o

If your lid is in good shape weld the hole and drill another, I'm doing the same thing. Still want to swap an original Rumble handle for an original Trunk handle for my '30. :)
Looks like I will be trying to trade a rumble lid for a trunk lid. I don't want a rumble seat.

question, I don't know what model mine is. One of the local hot rod guys says its a 31 because of the indention for the fuel spigot, and it has a wide inst cluster. Is this right? He also says it is a deluxe. based on the covering on the seats. I don't have the w/s frame or stanchions. thanks, jim.

Since all model A gas tanks were in the cowl I think you can rule that comment out. No difference in there being a deluxe. Other than the changes mentioned in Kevin's link there is very little difference. Rod

Yes, you have a late 1931 if the right side of the firewall is indented with the gas shut off under the hood. The wide dash with a round speedometer was a mid 1930 change, all 1931's have them. :)

it is .Thank you. Where would the id nos be? it has a plate on the rt side of the firewall, but I can't see any nos there. This car was bought on a bill of sale. no nos.

they use the motor number. or you can lift the body and look for the number on the driverside frame rail aprox where your left foot would rest while driving.
