Dennis Carpenter Holley 94?

This has no relevance to the topic, and for that I apologise, but has some relevance to the side issue.
Did you guys know that goods labelled "Made In USA" are only required to have a minimum 40% local content to be able to wear that label? So your part that you think is made at home may contain up to 59% chinese content. For those that are sticklers for using US items, either use NOS parts or check with the manufacturer and see if they will guarantee 100% local content.
An easy to spot example is American made electronic equipment. Look inside.... the majority of components come from the east or Mexico.

OK, to answer Gearhead1952 request! I used a strip of 320 grit aluminum oxide 3-M Shop Roll. Cut approximately 3" off the roll and wrap onto a split mandrel for a die grinder. Oil the abrasive to make the cutting less aggressive. Go into the bore and hone away, checking your progress periodically. Cleanup with laquer thinner or spray Carb Cleaner. Do a follow-up polish with a good paint polishing compound on a small cotton buff spun by a Dremmel tool.
I used the kit that Speedway Motors sells, and found that their neoprene (not rubber) plunger has enough friction in the bore to get the job done.
BTW, I just rebuilt four '94s last week for my 4-carbed 324 Olds powered hot rod. The road test was positive.

Back to the original question: Has any one seen the DC 94 Carb or used it? This along with the Edelbrock 94 seems to be "unobtainium". Are they real or not? As for reality I guess I will continue to rebuild cores I find at swap meets and flea markets.

The way i read the DC94 is a rebuilt orginal carb for $200 bucks. I found no reference to it being "new".

In the .pdf I just downloaded they have a rebuilt for $200. They also show a unit with a new base and top castings for the same price. The difference in the part nos for the two is -N for the one with new castings. This may be a good alternative if good cores can't be found. I guess the original question stands.

As posted in a previous message, the carb with the "N" suffix after the part number is a new carb. They even crow about the body and top being made off the original tooling for the '49-'53 carb.

Gearhead 1952" As i said even their kits are junk.Rubber AP's that just fall to the bottom of the bore, wrong length possibly, rubber tipped inlet needles, wrong # power valves.By the time you hone out metal from the bore ,even a good leather AP wont fit anymore. It does have a slight step about 1/2 way down.Do your self a favor, find a better core or middle section to rebuild, pitted ones are N/G. You get what you pay for. ken ct.

i agree with you ken ct, theres no doubt in my mind that they will be asian made ,,for you guys that dont know ken ct has been rebuilding carbs for years so he does have knowlage about them ,,my 2 cents worth

after reading the posts comparing the english stromberg 97 and the speedway chinese 97 in quality and costs, you get what you pay for. dont know where the drake 94 is made but Edelbrock version of the 94 is made in the USA and that probably accounts for the cost & probable quality difference. Ken, ct rebuilt several 94s for me and they were exelent quality, excelent kits also.
as for american vs chinese products, well, its like buying oats:
if you want nice, clean, fresh oats you are going to pay a premium price. if you are satisfied with oats that have been THROUGH the horse, well they come somewhat cheaper.
and i know its damn hard to find things at home depot, wallmart or sears that are made in america but if you look enough and pay a little more they are there. most people want cheap but i think alot of us are in a generation that wants american made parts and tools and have to be willing to pay a little more for supporting OUR econocemy. i am.
