I found the buck tag on my 1959 Mercury Montero. It was under the hood on the firewall over near the heater.

The information you seek is likely in the Chassis and Body parts catalog for the 1959 Mercury models. A lot of the old original manuals included multiple years, I believe the manuals were from 1956 through 1959 in the paper book versions. A lot of this type stuff is recorded on CDs now days.

Most of my mercury stuff is for the early 49 thru 51 models but I also have stuff up to 1955 which is no help for a 1959 model.

Ford didn't use buck tags in the earlier part of the 1950s. Everything was on a body data plate which could be inside the cab or in a door jam on some. Under hood tags were used in the early 50s.

Body tags generally give the body type & manufacturing date codes as well as interior and exterior color & materials combinations. Some give engine, transmission, & rear axle information.
