Date code on back of a Stewart/Warner Speedometer...

[Steve Plucker]

Does anyone have a photo of the back of a Stewart-Warner Speedometer showing the "stenciled" date code?

If so, could you please email me a photo of it?

Thanks.

Steve,

You have mail.

[Charles Reese]

do you have a 'key' for the codes?

do you have a 'key' for the codes?

Yes, Thanks to Ron Cataldo:

1-January......12-December

U-1927......Y-1931

Stenciled in white

Stencils could be either way "10-W" (October 1929) or "W-10" (1929 October).

your key makes sense but then what is Brubakers 9K?

[Brubaker]

Charles, it's a W-6

[Charles Reese]

sorry to bog down the posts, for some reason your embedded pix does not zoom out when i click it so my old eyes read it (now apparently upside down!) as 9K ... thanks for info

I have a round Russian GAZ speedo somewhere that I need to dig out. I wonder if they would have the same date code?
