converting 6 volt to 12 volt

I bought a 55 ford { 6 volt) in 1965. I fought that system til i parked it and sold it. I now have a 38 truck with the 6 volt system and I see the same thing happening. What are the pros and cons to converting the 38 to a 12 volt system? Thanks for your thoughts.

When you say you “fought with it” what was the problem? 6v systems get a bad rep for not having enough juice to start engines. Most of the time the issue is resistance/ charging. My mash was hard to start, and everyone told me to convert to 12v.
One person said check the connection to ground and the starter. Bingo, both were very corroded. I reattached the connection, cutting off ends, and soldering on new connectors. Charging the battery and bingo - starts every time.
