Constructing a Vintage Trunk for My Model A

A-Man

I am considering making a vintage auto trunk for my 1930 Model A Coupe. I earlier obtained a set of plans from John de Sousa. Said plans call for 1/8" marine or exterior grade plywood or okoume plywood for making the curved lid. I am having difficulty locating the material in Nebraska.
Those of you who have crafted such a trunk, what material did you use, and where did you get it?
Thanks.

You could try finding baltic birch plywood at a good wood supply store. It comes in close to 1/8" thickness (it is metric in thickness) and has no voids in the laminates. Lots of wood workeres use it for cabinet drawers and fixtures as is dimensionally stable. When you assemble the trunk, coat it with several coats of marine varnish where you are worried about moisture.
