Commutator RHD

Just after some advice, primarily from RHD owners - but happy to hear from anyone!

All the information I can find has the commutator advance connection at the top. On my RHD it is on the bottom. Looking at it face own, from the 9o'clock position, it is 4-2-1-3. I have tried putting the advance at the top but the connection from the RHD steering wheel just does not work. When I try to advance on the steering wheel, ie pull down, there is no movement possible.
Or is the action of the spark advance lever just reversed - fully down for starting and then adjust upwards?

So, what is the correct setup for RHD vehicles?

If I were to purchase an off-the-shelf replacement wiring harness (presumably made for LHD vehicles, can this be fitted without modification?
The connections on my firewall are 1-2-3-4 left to right feed as they should to 1-2-3-4 sparkplugs (engine front to back)

Happy for any information that RHD'ers may have - any pictures would also be appreciated.

Many thanks
John

This link only shows the right hand drive throttle and spark controls but notice they are changed from side to side. The the throttle lever is still in toward the center of the car and the spark is outboard of center.

I couldn't find a diagram of how the spark is connected to the timer but it has to push or pull the lever on the timer to the required position. I did find this link that may help a little.

It appears that the timers are only different by the oil hole location per that last link. They are in effect upside down The engine ignition diagram shouldn't change as far as the location of the wire connections. Only the throttle and spark connections change. Numbered timers would be problematic if flipped over for RHD cars. The colors or numbers would have to be in the same place as on LHD cars.
