Clutch Pressure Plate

I've pulled the rear end and dropped the transmission to replace the throw-out bearing and the clutch actuating shaft & bushings.

Is there a way to test the pressure plate while I'm in there? The alternative being to replace it with a rebuilt one just to make sure.

I would replace the pressure plate and clutch disc while there. It will save alot of work in the future. You will be good to go for quite a few more miles then.

It's also good practice : while you are there anyway to replace the bearing in the flywheel also.

I would replace it all. Better to do it when its as easy as it is now than to have to go through it again. The cost of the parts is minimal compared to the work you will have to do sooner or later.
