So would I....in fact I just did use one just like it with other mismatched but similarly used gears and the result is a nice quiet (for an A) gearbox. I understand the "new" approach as well, but if one is willing to play the odds a bit the result can be rewarding. As a shop owner working for a customer....no....but as an owner working on his own stuff and willing to give it a try..sure!
