Christmas Cruise

Christmas Day. Took Howard (deuce pickup) out for a ride today. It not often in Nebraska you get to drive your old car on Christmas day. Just got back from a little cruise, 40 degrees, no snow or salt so far this year? Merry Christmas

Good for you! There's something fun about driving our old fords in the winter. I'm glad you got a chance. I recently installed a much better heater in the woodie. A pleasure to drive now and I was all around town yesterday doing some last minute shopping.

I don't plan to seriously drive the 52 Merc in winter but did fire it up for a short drive this week. Plenty of snow around but I kept a couple of miles away from road salt.

Being from Seattle, we got to drive our old Fords often in the winter!! I can remember well sitting on seat of my friend's '29 A truck... going down the 99 near Sea-Tac... and freezing! And him telling me he had just installed a manifold heater... "put your hands down there, there on the firewall..."

I got warm hands, but the cab remained freezing! Brrr!...

Took my '35 out for a ride as well on Christmas day here in North Carolina. Beautiful afternoon, sunny, 50 degrees. Made a 25 mile loop out thru the countryside. On my return down Hwy 158, a NC State Patrolman I met on the HWY actually smiled and threw up his hand to wave. Guess he was a Ford man too :)
