Carbuetor parts

Someone got a whole lot of carburetor parts on fleabay 130412752314 for $534. I was willing to go $300 but someone was much more enthusiastic than me. I've only got 40 or so carbs to restore... Someone on this forum?

Interestingly enough the seller said this when I asked him why he was selling:

"I have been rebuilding Model A carbs for years and I only use new parts these parts are out of about 150 Zenith carbs. A zenith that is rebuilt with used parts is just cleaned up."

Quite a difference with what I've been told and seen on this forum!

If one were to put in inferior parts such as jets with incorrect shaped tips are you really rebuilding (bringing back to original operating specifications) the carb?
