Hello All
My 23 roadster started to run rough and miss and backfire i cked the spark to the plugs all good, no leaks at manifold but what i found was the gaskit for the carb bowel was rotten and half gone i replaced the gaskit and runs great again. I have notice that before it got bad was i had loss of power and just didn't seem right so might be a good idea to ck the carb bowel caskits

The gasket between the bowl and the casting has nothing to do with how well the car runs, it's only there to prevent gas from sloshing out. If you pulled the carb off to replace it you may have knocked some crud loose that was blocking the fuel inlet in the precess allowing for full flow of fuel or the fuel opening to the needle valve.
