Carb float

Helping a friend getting a T to run right. I replaced the cork float with the new version material and set the float to the same height as the old. I had trouble keeping it running so I had to set the float by eyeball & luck to allow more gas (runs great), but now the float is not set as described in the MTFC publication. Is this just due to the new material being more buoyant? It is a Kingston carb. Thank you for any insight.

Well I would say place it where it runs good and leave it. Every motor and carb is different and to say for instance one turn out on the spray needle could work for you but never for me. Is it running rich at all????
