Buffing/Polishing Products

Have color sanded PPG Concept with 2000 wet/dry to remove nibs, etc. Have a porter-cable random orbit polisher with various foam pads. A neighbor gave me near full bottles of 3M 05996 Polish Glaze and 05928 Finnese II Finishing Material.

As I am not familiar with either of these, would like to know where they fit in the scheme of buffing/polishing. Are they both ‘final’ type products or can one/both be used to take out the 2000 sanding scratches? Which to use first?

the finesse is what you use after you water sand, i first water sand with 1500 then 2000, you will feel the sand paper go smooth, You can do two things here one start buffing or you can take paper towels (i use the blue auto zone) dry the area off what you are looking for is the small spots they will be darker, like water drops , if you see these you have not sanded enough, be carefully there is a fine line between not enough and too much, once your happy they buff, the orbit polisher is not my first choice in buffing machine i like the ones were you can adjust the speed, I run around 1000 to 1400 RPM but if all you got is the orbit go far it, buff till dry, watch the edge stay away, you can hand rub the edge if you want to, the polish will say dark or light color, this is the final touch, when right you can read the words in the polish when your done, if the words are fuzzy buff some more, the finnese is pricing but don't be cheap here good luck
