Bucket List NY-LA 9-10 ideas requested

I sure would love to do this. But I know I'd have to do it alone. My wife won't drive 20 miles in my A, never mind cross country. I envy you too.... Maybe the wife would let me take one of the dogs to keep me company. If's posible make sure you post pictures along the way. God speed and have a safe trip. Be carefull out there.....

I agree with the post above that 250-miles/day would be more enjoyable, and doable. Just a suggestion, you might Google "Lincoln Highway" and look at that route as a possibility.

If you follow the Lincoln Highway through Iowa, I live in the Amana Colonies which is about 20-miles south of the highway itself. Shoot me an email rlheit@southslope.net and we can exchage info if you are so inclinded.

Good luck, and enjoy.

See this is a very interesting post to me. Me and my gf plan on driveing from Boston to Orlando FL then down to the keys in January In my 28 RPU. I actualy built the bed for this trip. I made it the same size as a single aro matrice and have a set up that pops up like a tent with bug nets around it. but Im just sort of concerned about will the old girl survive the trip 82 years old and mechanicly never rebuilt (engen and drive train) stairing and brakes and hubs and bearings restored. What parts should I realy be worried about going. Wheel berings? Flats obvously.

Carb & distributor. carry a tested spare of each. water pump also unless you are running an Extreme Duty Leakless. I usually carry a spare generator on long trips. if you are running a mechanical cutout, replace it with a solid state regulator. also a box with lots of small parts that NAPA doesn't carry, and basic tools to install. Inner & outer front bearings & races + 1 rear bearing. I've driven over 40,000 miles in Model As and only 2 flats so far. email me for the small parts list.
