Brakleen on linings

Is it safe to use Brakleen on woven brake lining I called the CRC company and were not sure I could,if not what do you use to clean linings? Thanks

When I encounter this I take solvent with bucket under and wash everything, then I take dawn and hot soapy water andwash down,2 good squirts inhot water, let set to next day, take propane torch and heat the linning only, back in forth,if oil ,brake fluid is present,it will come out,you dont have to get that hot, 3/400 degrees, may have to repeat process twice, works for me.

Usually if brake linings become "contaminated",and after trying to clean you usually end up replacing the linings...JMO

I would use air or a vacuum. I do not think it is a good idea to put any liquids at all on the linings.

I am also very careful not to handle the linings when I assemble the brakes. It does not take much contamination to screw them up.

My opinion,

Chris
