AS i'm Filiming the UC my pals are having all the fun, 2 things its very hard to turn on the sod in 1st gear you need speed and to be in 2nd. and its hard to get her to move while changing gears at low speed, Smoke ah yes needs a ring job , But only use her about 10 times a year with about 12 miles added on her a year so I can wait , I just change the iol every other time she goes out ! I KNOW that it has a V8 flathead FORD engine in it, but it did not sound like one. Was the engine just drowned out by the gear whine ?

Just for the record they all whine, every restored carrier I know of has that gear whine, I don't now why they whine does anyone know why?

Big Mike, your carrier has a lot of appeal to a 72 year old like me. how fast in top speed like in open ground runing, thanks Harold ,central coast Ca.
 
I would imagine the best tactic when operating one would be plan ahead, turn on the bumps, avoid cattails and other old dozer operators tricks. It may make you a bigger target, but it would sure beat marching.
