Just watched a Biography Channel feature on Andy Griffith. There were three family pictures over about the last 40 years, and in those pictures is a '30-'31 Cabriolet. I assume it's the same car in all the pictures, but maybe he had a few? A google search didn't bring up any photo's of the car.
Just wondering if anybody had the scoop on it?

Andy has a variety of old Fords. Not just Model A's. When he was filming Matlock at Universal he would drive a different Ford to work each day.

:rolleyes:The "RESTORER" July/ Aug. 1989 front cover Andy Griffith and Don Knotts . with the Cabriolet that was given to him from Bill Harrah .He recieved the Cabriolet in 1970 .He also owns {{{{400-A}}}} NOT A400:mad: and a 1928 phaeton Model "A". 1934 Ford pickup ,1938 Buick and a 1946 Ford Woodie.. And there's a picture of the President of MAFCA[1989] Jerry Wilhelm who's on Fordbarn once in awhile. Jerry if you read this hope to see ya at Hershey..:)

Don't mean to side-track the thread but The Sting was on the other night. I used to watch it for the acting(Redford,Newman), now I look forward to the 'car scenes'. Some neat early thirties autos.

Andy's A is a seal brown/ bronson yellow 31 slantwindshield 68C (Cabriolet). I saw it min an article a couple of years ago.

He did a series of 2hr. movies, drove a beater 28-29 roadster pu, one was called
" Winter kill " I think, they were well made. No, he is still with us.

NO Mr. Griffith is very much alive having just completed a new series of TV commercials - (health insurance.)

Go ANDY!

Speaking of ANDY GRIFFITH, is this Andy, before TV fame ?
What do you think ? Can anyone get him to check this out ?
MIKE :)
