A very happy camper indeed!

I made a giant leap in the progress of the long suffering restoration project of my 50 Ford F-1. I pushed it out of the garage this morning and charged the battery for a while. Jumped into the truck and fired it up. My wife grabbed the camera and took some pics of a happy guy driving his truck on the street. I've posted them in my album for you guys to see. It's been 30 years since this truck has moved under it's own power.

Lookin good Barry. It took me five (and a bunch of friends) five years to restore/build our '51 F-1. Vic

It's been a long time since we started talking trucks, good to see it running under it's own power. I know the feeling, better than any drug.

Alright Barry, I'm right behind you... Going to paint by Christmas, Be on the road by spring! Gotta love those F-1ss! Ken

So far this year it's been 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Had the stuck valve, had the tank bead blasted and lined, lining started to dissolve, so I lost a month or so dealing with the radiator shop. Finally got it back and re-installed. Just alot of stupid setbacks. But, it's been a good year progress wise, as many years it sat as we raised 2 girls and everything associated with kids ( as most know ). It patiently waited for me and now I see light at the end of the tunnel. Lots more to do before it gets cold up here in the N.E area. I should put my gas heater in before it gets cold, so I can work during the winter. Just never enough hours in the day.........

That's Great Barry, Was You Setting On A Orange Crate?

I hope not. Please dont do this. We had a guy here about 3 yrs ago couldnt wait to get his bomber seats in for his Hi boy so you guessed it, he sat on a makeshift seat and it shifted out from under him, off the road he went into a telephone pole destoying all his work and sending him throught he windshield and killing him. I have guys all the time almost bragging about sitting on a bucket and driving their project for the first time, dumb, dumb.

I had a double wide milk crate with a moving quilt on it. Yes, dumb. but I only went 100 feet either way of my driveway. My luck a cop would nail me. I have a seat, but not installed yet.
