Took the ‘28 roadster to the local cars & coffee show this weekend and parked next to my wife’s beautiful new 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid.
Enjoyed lots of comments & discussion about the cars. I pointed out how hers has a backup camera with three viewing options whereas my’28 doesn’t even have backup lights.
When I told them that the roadster’s rearview mirror was still in black-and-white because color didn’t come out until the 50’s they almost believed me.

I told my son that when I was a boy the internet was black and white.
I remember asking my own father when I was 5 or 6 if a man came around with a candle on a stick to light the street lamps when he was a boy. I guess I saw an illustration in some Dickens cartoon. My old pop laughed and pretended to be insulted.

At 68 years old it is such an interesting time to live, a generation born between World War II and JFK, we learned from our great grand and grandparent’s firsthand experiences of growing up, our parents during the depression and the war years. We woke up to test screens on the black and white TV, used pocket change to dial a girl friend in a phone booth, and the list goes on and on. Today we tour in our Model A’s using GPS to guide us along the back roads, and the internet to post and communicate with our Model A friends. So, the good old days are actually today…….

My grandfather was born in 1896. I often think about how it would have been to have seen the changes in life since that time. The invention of cars, airplanes, electric light and appliances, etc...

I think this exactly going from horses to cars and airplanes in 40 years time and then 20 or so more and we're in space. Pretty incredible. Living through the "internet age" I guess I should be more impressed...but it all just becomes normal.

I'm not smart enough for all of the modern tech it quickly passes you by. I built computers in high school, 20 years ago and the constant tech changes since then feel more burdensome than helpful.

It its a strange feeling going from 30 ford to 2019 Ford back to back.

The A is the best way to make my 2019 Fusion 1.5Liter feel fast though.

My father was born in 1896 into a farm family. He hated farming! After a short trip to help win WW1, he bought 25 straight Fords from Ace Ford of Woodbury, NJ: to carry him around to sell Page Fence in the PA, Md and NJ areas.

I learned how to drive on a mid-60's Pontiac GTO. I was remarking to my wife the other day that driving the Model A makes our Prius seem like a muscle car.
