Notice in the engine pics of my manual, the oil slinger 6310 - is between the crank gear and the pulley. The oil slinger is suppose to "sling" oil around as the crank spins. Is the slinger suppose to be "loose" on the crank? Location is just inside the pan correct? Thanks

Slinger is sloted to fit over crank gear key, this forces it to spin with the crank. Yes, it is inside the pan between the gear and the pulley.

When the pulley with the spiral grooved sleeve area is pressed on, it should be tightened up a good bit. They are close size to the snout diameter and the woodruf key and usually go on pretty snug.
