64 t bird power windows

I usually lurk on the v8 side of this wonderfull site but now I have a ? about my 64 bird convt. The power windows used to work great then they started to not work once and a while, now they don't work at all. So i started testing, got power at the breakers on the fuse box but not at the main switch in the counsel. My wiring diagram shows a window safty relay. When I go through the test procedures thats where I end up, But I can't find it. Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I see what appears to be a breaker above the fuse panel. That's looking at my shop manual for a '62-'63. There's not a good explanation anywhere for that breaker. May be entirely different for your car anyway! I've got to do some switch-window work on mine also. Good luck!!--Bill

Window safety relay is mounted on the firewall near the heater motor assembly. Suggest you search threads related to power windows for 1964 at www.vintagethunderbirdclub.org and go to the VTCI Forum for better and more-knowledgable T-bird-specific info.

The relay was to have the windows work when you have the key on. Bill

Once you have checked the relays and breakers, make sure the switches are good. The biggest problem with power windows from the 60's to the new cars I work on today is the switches.

Thanks for all the help, got a new relay all is good. Not a very nice place to get at, good thing my grandson has smaller hands. What is the function of the relay just under the power window relay?
