Are 40 pickup cabs the same as the 46,47 cabs ? I was just wondering if you could put a 40 front end, ie hood, fenders, grill, etc, on a 46 ?? Thanks, Bill

there are a lot of differences between the cabs the mounting is completly different and the 42-47 mounts on top of the frame, the 40-41 is channeled over the frame,in order to put the two together would take a lot of fab work. John

The only difference is 40 and 41 had the gas tank behind the rear axel and 42 - 46 and 47 had the tank in the cab. My 41 cab is not channeled over the frame. I believe the front sheet metal will bolt up to any cab from 40 to 47.

yes you can , cab bolts on a 40 chassis, front end bolts on but you have to put the 40 parts on, hood hinges bolts on, you must at a few holes but yes it will work. built 3 trucks using 42-47 1/2 ton and 1 ton cabs.
