39 ford deluxe horn button rod replacement

any suggestions on replacing what appears to be a horn button wire rod on a 39 deluxe horn button, thanks

I bought a basket case car and the old owner cut the rod at the button?

Without pictures of your problem it is hard to know the exact damage, and propose a repair ---the bottom section of the rod is probably the same 28-39, it could be possible to braze, weld ,solder a salvaged section from another rod ---hobby shops usually have a selection of brass tubing (very thin walls) that could be used to join it, you should have the length, or another to copy exact length ---if your remains are bent up also I would look for the whole tube because it could be hard to get it straight enough to not bind inside the steering shaft.
