This is a restoration project that was started back in the 1990’s. I bought it at the NSRA nationals swap meet in 2009 and have not been able to make any progress with it due to time and other projects. This is a 98% plus complete car so there would be very little additional parts you would need to complete the project. The body was originally redi-stripped but was never primed except for the cowl area so it would need a light media blast to clean it back up. There is virtually no pitting or serious rust left and the metal is very straight. The previous owner had the car in a restoration shop and they had repaired the floor and cut out the lower quarters to put in patch panels. EMS panels for the quarters, the one door that needs repair in the very bottom and the pan under the deck lid are included with the car but not installed. The running boards are EMS repros and come with glue on covers. The driveline has been overhauled with 0.040 pistons, new trans and rear gears. The engine bolt-on’s are there but need to be rebuilt. All of the suspension was disassembled and redone mechanically. Gas tank and radiator were professionally done and remain sealed. A stainless repro grille was purchased early in the project and it does have a few minor blemishes that can easily be repaired. All gages and radio were removed and boxed – all appear to be in very good cosmetic condition I might would replace the clock dial face which is discolored for some reason. For a driver, I would run them as is assuming they function properly. Nice original windshield frame with a couple of minor rust spots but again for a driver I was going to run it without rechroming it. Good seat frames and springs but no upholstery. There are several boxes that contain hundreds of small parts and virtually everything that was removed from the car during disassembly. Previous owner said he had over $23K invested in it. I paid about $14,000 including transport to South Carolina. Additionally, I bought a nice pair of original front fenders to upgrade over the ones that came with the car. The rears are good but do need some work. If you are going to Moultri this weekend stop by and take a look if you are interested in a project like this. I am in upstate South Carolina, one hour due south of Asheville, North Carolina. I am 15 minutes west of I-85. $13,500.
