I,m building an engine foir a mates 35,and having trouble finding a good set of rods from my stock, He has a pile of engines that he can pul the pan on to check the type of rods but would like to know when the early rods finished(what year or eng type)

Well mate, I think [that's dangerous!!] the early rods ran through to 39, when the 91A rod superceeded it, then in 42 the 21A rod came into production for the small journal cranks. In a nutshell; any 221 rod will fit a 35 motor, but there are variances with the weights of the different rods, so pay to balance. Brian
