34 Rumble Rain Water Drain

Hi,
I am working on the restoration of a 34 Roadster and would appreciate comments and pictures of how the rain water drains out of the rumble seat trunk in the original model.

If you figure it out let me know. I've been trying for years. 34's with trunk have a rail running across trunk with holes to let it drain but with rumble seat it interfers with lid when opening. I saw one years ago with plastic tubes attached at end of gutters and snaked around to a couple holes in floor, don't know if it worked. I got cought once in the 55 years I've had mine and had to dry out the rug with a hair drier. Be very interested if you come up with a scheme.

I'm not that familiar with the 1934 rumble, but on my 1935, I punched holes in the lower pan to have a place for water to run out. Water would settle in there, every time that I washed it !

There should be a pan under the window with an outlet tube on the passenger side. A rubber (originally fabric) tube is attached to the outlet and drains the water down through the body and under the car. Tom/SC has has beautifully restored '34 5-window Coupe and often posts on this forum. He's in Charlotte this weekend, but perhaps will jump in when he returns.

There should be a "dam" behind the diff inspection hole under the rumble seat base.
This piece also has the clips that secure the rumble seat base fixed to it.
It is held in by 14 self tapper screws.
A little sealant under it helps any water that comes down the rumble seat opening side channels to drain thru the floor via 3 holes.

Here are pictures for you. There is a drain hole at the center of the dam and at each end. Ignore the bend in the dam.
