I'm aware of that change to the open cars,but I didn't see anything pointing it out to be just for the DeLuxe or Standard.

Another change made on roadster and coupes also was the brace that is mid way on quarter panel at rear deck panel, early cars , bottom of the brace will attach to the sub rail, later cars it will be attached to the wheel house area, if I remember correctly this change was made May of 1931. Picture somewhat shows brace , with clamp on it .
