original was probaby nickel (as is my 8/29 SC), not chrome, depending on the month the car was built...and if they used what they said they were going to use!

(FYI, Mike's has the nickel or chrome available in "fair to good" quality)

This is for a brookville RPU with a v8. I am more concerned with quality that correct parts - and would prefer a slightly worn original.
