On my 27 Roadster the Lock is in the Deck Lid but the latch on the body is missing. I have no ides what it looks like. Would like to see a picture of the Latch so I can make one.

No that the part on the deck lid. I need the part on the lower panel that locks the deck lidhttps://www.fordbarn.com/attachments/22309/

I went back out and looked at my parts again. I have one turtledeck that has what looks like an original rear body panel and one that has had the panel replaced.

The following picture is on the seemingly old body panel; which is cut out in the area of the latch, the other body panel hasn't been cut out.

I checked 2 original cars I have & there is no latch plate there. I thought they must be missing but on examining the picture above it looks like there are no holes to mount a plate or whatever. The latch may hook under the reinforcement - the body metal being cut away to let it do that. It would not be unusual for Ford to eliminate the need for an extra part if it could be done. I will check for mounting holes on mine again.

Hey Guys, I went out to the garage to ck mine. Jack is right, there is no striker plate. the skin and inner brace has about a 3/4 inch notch for it to go thru and latch on to the inner brace on mine.

Sounds like the brace that the latch catches must be worn off , or the tang on the lock is worn or broken. Have the wife shut you inside of the trunk with a flash lite. You trust her dont you? ? ? Monte

Will yours lock when close? Mine will not lock when close. My bussy has a coupe and is the same as mine????? It should lock don't you think?

I did not buy any. The lock and key is what came on the car. Its the part on the lower panel that we are talking about. It looks like the part is missing.
