How can you tell if a roadster body from 26/27 came with a turtle deck or was a pickup, anyway of telling when looking at the back section? Thanks

There are several differences but one way is to observe the "bun panels" ahead of the rear fenders.

The shorter one is for a roadster, the other is for a roadster pickup.

Yes the Roadster seat panel will have a indented portion near the top. The pickup panel will not. Jack Innes showed you the difference in the Bun Panels. Just to confuse you a little my registration said it is a 1927 Runabout with a Box. They came with a trunk (Turtle Deck) and a box (Pickup Bed). Go figure. Jim.T.

Absolutely a roadster body. The rear deck mounting holes show plainly.

It's not the front of a touring. It's too rounded plus the back panel is wrong for a touring. Also the hinge pockets are not there. If this guy is who I think he is and you deal with him be carefull

$300 for some door hinges, latches, and a gas lid?? YGBSM! Looks like the rest got run over by thee John Deere! ws

Absolutely not a touring body. That is not a rear door frame. That is a roadster body and the holes you see in the back is where the turtle deck bolts on. Or Possibly it is a pickup body and that is where the filler panels bolt on. Either way It has been hacked and the rear deck has been cut off.

That was some kind of stiffener on the roadsters. I remember a few tourings I had where the back panel was flat and curved across for the back seaters to look at... I take that gas lid part back too... its missing. You can find WAYYYY better than that thing! ws
