Can anyone tell me the manufacturer and part number of a universal joint adapter that will hook up a LTD drive shaft to a 1955 Ford rear end, thanks

They have U joints that have different lengths for the rollers. Maybe this is what you are looking for? Check with a drive shaft shop - they can help.

Hi Paul, I installed a 302 and a 5 speed in my 55 ford. I am told you can use a LTD driveshaft and can buy a special U joint that will work to original rear end. It will be temporary for moving vehicle around in our garage, until I install a 9 inch. thanks Richard

Dana Spicer Cross Over U-Joint

These unique U-Joints allow you to adapt driveshaft's to different drivetrain components that don’t share the same size U-Joint. These U-Joints have two different series on the same Joint. Available in most popular sizes.

What you are looking for is called a conversion U-Joint.In my '54 Ford I have a 302 and AOD with an '86 Crown Vic driveshaft the conversion part# is NEAPCO 2-0291.Full size car AOD's are a little over an inch longer than a Mustang AOD so I did have the shaft shortened 1 1/4",the front yoke is the same for AOD's and C4's.This U-Joint comes with new retainers and bolts also.Click on www.finditparts.com/products/neapco-2-0291

Get very precise measurements of your cross length and cap diameter from both your driveshaft and yoke. The NAPA U Joint catalog shows conversion joints listed by size. Maybe your local NAPA store can find what you are looking for. If they don't have it in stock, then ask if they could order it for you.
