How important is the splash pan that is underneath between the radiator and the front crossmember? Can it be left out or is it needed for certain reasons?
I had a '49 that did not have it, and a '50 that did. Had them both at the same time and never saw any difference between the cars. Main benefit is it keeps the compartment a little cleaner.
